KING JAMES MISTAKE

Silk thread is produced by silkworms, which feed on mulberry trees. In 1608, King James 1 of England had 10,000 black mulberry trees planted so that silk-making could flourish. The scheme failed because silkworms that were brought from China, only feed on the white mulberry.
